The title is from Johnny Cash's 'A Thing Called Love' Yes Evy, I'm stealing the way you name RPs //ming))
The man clutched the photograph in his hands, but he was careful not to damage it. The picture showed a young woman, though her shoulder length hair was white. Her eyes were grey and she was smiling almost sadly ay the camera, holding a tiny baby. The baby was a boy, a black-haired little boy (his eyes weren't open) and that picture, taken nineteen years ago, was the lest he saw of those two.
Amanda sent his letters still, sometimes. No more pictures, but she told him when the black haired baby said his first word, and when he broke his leg, and when he went to a boarding school. And when she got married, and when she had a little girl. She never told him the boy's name.
He was fourteen when he met her, and fifteen when he left her.
Everyone told him he did the right thing. They said she was too weird, too old for him, he was just infatuated, kids these days, you know, and he'd forget her in no time, find himself another girlfriend in a week. He didn't let anyone (his parents) know about her picture and her letters, afraid they'd take them from him. And he still missed her after a week, and two, and ten, and after three years and two girlfriends, he still missed how she hummed at three am. And after nineteen years, a whole bunch of girlfriends and what-ifs, Samuel Cor decided he was going to die someday and you know what, he'd fucking hate to die without seeing her one more time and god fucking damn it, he wanted to his his son's fucking face.
So he figured, there's no time like the present. That's why Sammy dragged his thirty-four years old sorry ass to a boarding school in the middle of nowhere with a weird name that was full of fucking monsters. He spared a moment to question his sanity and stood in front of Scream Academy's gate, tapping on the door or ringing the doorbell or whatever the fuck that was, hoping someone would be decent enough to open the fucking door and not let him freeze to death.

She was retiring. She had grown old, or so people told her. What was it that made her snap? Was it when the students went off to have coffee on her class, for God knows what time? Was it when she finally, finally, after all those years, realized that she was the only one remaining, that everybody else just... vanished? Died. Was it when she realized that she can speak only to Holy normally, aside from her son. Or when she once again saw Antonia? She didn't believe she would see this... child, again (for Rashida is 98 and Antonia is 'only' 56, keep in mind). In a sense, she did see her, every day for past 14 years, for she got hold of Tony when the child was 4. But it was different. Somewhere at the back of her mind, the blonde woman could remember introvert Antonia... She had never been nice. Never. But she wasn't evil. Then she snapped and everybody blamed her.
"I didn't do it, I didn't do..." - the woman chanted, over and over and over. She didn't. She didn't. She blocked out everything that pointed her way (because honestly, she did).
And now she was retiring. Because the child was back once again and Rashida couldn't, anymore. If Her, the female part of the unusual creator-and-her-created duo, wanted attention, then she would have to leave Academy alone. It only seemed normal to Rashida. Who else could cause this? She was pretty sure Antonia didn't hate Tony all that much.
Her family musings were cut short by the knock on the door.
"Thieves!" - she shrieked, running to the door immediately. Nobody ever knocked here... If there was rain - run the door down. If there was blizzard - run the door down. If there was fire - run the door down. If there was life and death situation - run the door down. If you were bored - run the door down. If there was a person in world breathing..... you get the idea. Of course the mad woman already assumed something bad was happening already.
She creaked the huge door, only slightly, and cringes made that not-so-pleasurable sound that echoed, but was usually drowned out by the noise of students.
"You are not wanted." - she hissed to the man standing on the other side. He wasn't of of them. That was so, so painfully obvious. She grumbled something that sounded lots like 'half-breeds'. He was reeking of it. Either he was some low, low, low specimen of demon or he was a human. Rashida could sense them, in a way. She fed on their nightmares, their fears. Not that this man had any, yet. She hoped to figure it out by the end of the day.

God fucking damn it there was a dead woman answering the door.
Maybe he wasn't dead, but you could never know with those lots. The woman had grey skin, though, and Sammy thought it was safe to assume she was dead. She also had a look in her eyes that said a lot about how crazy she probably was.
But fuck god if he wasn't going to enter the place and see the black haired boy. Sammy did not come all this way to fuck nowhere to leave just because a crazy dead woman told him he wasn't welcome at monster academy.
The man took a few more seconds to question his sanity, again, and frowned at Rashida. He tried to remember the barely convincing lie he had carefully prepared for this moment. He decided lying was fucking useless and decided on half-truths. "I'm here to visit someone.", he said, looking down. That crazy dead woman was short. "His last name is Bancor. He's got eyebrows like mine.", he added helpfully. Those annoying thick eyebrows run in the family. The boy would have them too. Also, you never know what kind of random information might help.
"Also, I'm not going to last long if you leave me here out in the fucking cold.", he stated.

Blue eyes - the most beautiful, they said, even though Rashida has left all of her past self, except for the eyes, behind - peered at the peculiar, brave human that dared speak back to her. The color changed, unwillingly and unknown to her, into the brightest shade of blue possible. Now that was beautiful. Once, Filth removed her eyes. The woman was brute. The child, the redheaded girl, had retrieved them. Rashida never got to truly, properly thank her. That all happened.... 40 years ago.Of the sorts.
"Why should I care if you are here to see somebody?" - she tapped tiny foot on the stone floor - "This is not Lost and Found, we are the Academy. There is a certain time where parents can visit their children." - not that blonde with curly hair knew.... She could see her son whenever she wanted, no netter how much he disliked this fact... Well, soon. Soon and he'll have to visit her in Kegan. Then he'll wish she was back, yes.
"I don't care-" - the nightmare witch stopped mid-sentence in order to look this man up and down. Then dhe pulled him in, ignoring the comment of how cold he was as she merely closed the heavy door, so much bigger than her little self.
"So it was your child!" - she more or less shrieked - "It was YOUR son that buggered MINE."
Never mind that, technically, Aw didn't. That story didn't hold water. Rashida knee fully well how children were made. Áine and Tony had plenty.

The crazy short woman was very fucking weird but then, he shouldn't have expected otherwise. Her being whatever she was, anyway. They're always sort of mad.
Amanda was a little mad too, but in the good way. In the lets-drink-that-whole-liquor-store way.
Anyway, the crazy short woman pulled Sammy in with the strength of someone taller than her and then he shirked something about his son bugging hers, and how the he'll did she know he was visiting his son and not... Someone else? Also, what did she mean by 'bugging'? At least she knew who was it he was coming to visit. He knew the eyebrows would help. He look at her again and isn't bother to thank her for not letting his ass freeze outside.
"Where exactly can I find him?", Sammy asked. "Also,", he mumbled, looking around. "What's his name?"
He really hoped Deirdre, Am's mother, hadn't named their son some weird feminine Irish name.

The woman rambled on about students, grades, Traditional Music, Amanda, shapeshifters, Rora, Antonia, more students, books... Could anybody even follow what she was saying as she tried to scold Sammy inbetween? Slight woman was going on and on and on, her lungs never running out of air she didn't need to breathe. That is, until he asked what the boy's name is.
"Father... Brother" - she mused, shaking her head - "Grandfather that reeks of humanity? Hardly. Distant relative?" - weighting what could his man be, Rashida remember Ramiel's first speech, when he hired her. Under no circunstances, unless it was to protect a student's life, is she allowed to attack others. This very well seemed like life or death thing, atleast at eyes of the lunatic.
"Alright, Mr Thief" - she began, color of blur eyes changing as she bit down on her red lip, trying to say this in order - "Who are you searching for, exactly?" - because she may be crazy and she may have killed... But certainly not children. Certainly not her own those that her own just happened to like.
--
Somewhere at Tien, Tony woke up because he thought his mother shouting. However things went quiet once more and he snuggled closer to Aw (after unsuccessfully trying to remove Tia from his lungs) and decided to fall back asleep, not quite sure if Aw was still sleeping. For a weekend, people were up so unbelievably early.

Sammy didn't bother listening to whatever that woman was saying. He also tried not to think of how her eyes changed colours.
"What?", he frowned at her with his big eyebrows. "You said you knew who I was talking about!", he fumed. Those damned monsters. Never do anything the easy way. "He's...", Sammy trailed off, remembering he didn't even know the boy's eye colour. He sighed, but unlike Aw's sighs, this one reeked of I'm-putting-up-with-your-ridiculous-behavior-because-I'm-feeling-like-a-good-person, which was a lie, since he was putting up with Rashida's ridiculous behavior because she probably had what he wanted. "His last name is Bancor, he's a banshee, 's got black hair...", he listed, hoping she'd tell him where to find his damn son so Sammy could then begin to search for a hot beverage.
"Just lead me to wherever the fuck this kid is.", he gestured around, getting angry.

Meanwhile, Aw was soundly asleep next to Jamie. He didn't wake up, nor did he plan on doing so in the foreseeable future.

"Oh I do, I do!" - the woman raised her hand, as if she was a student who was asked a question. She did sort of... look like one. She couldn't be over 20... Though at times she appeared to be 30 as well. She was of those could-be-25-could-45 types of women, those you never know if they're old in body and young in mind or vice verse.
"But you don't!" - she made small 'ha' at the end. Just like a student that has guessed something correctly, the best one in class. She was feeling very smug about this too, if all of this could even be called feeling because she was so numb, emotionally-wise.
"The banshee! Yes! Yes~" - she nodded. Of course she knew. Bancor did ring a bell, but she remembered, during the LMS ((set this after lms since she's retiring and she's missing in LMS currently //papming)) that the boy was screaming her name when he found Tony. What WAS his name... Tony did mention him all the time.
"Was it.. Adrian? Oliver?... Áine! It was Áine, I know! I do!" - she said and nodded and frowned. It's not that she didn't like him. She just... Well he did procreate with her child, or so she believed not that they don't do thi- /shot.
"But I can't just lead you to the child." - the ecstatic woman calmed down, as if suddenly losing all of her energy as she stared tiredly - could one even see if she was tired, when she was crazy? - at Sammy.
"I'm afraid I need you name. And relation to him. I can't have Headmaster after my ass. Or your little banshee, when he throws you out and starts hating me and has a fight with my son-" - and in Rashida mind she could clearly.... not clearly, hey, she was crazy. But she could -hazily- see how this would play out and she was already on the scenario where Tony never spoke to her ever, ever, ever again because of her being irresponsible (while in reality, Tony DID tell her that she was being irresponsible, but would never really... leave her or not talk to her because of this).
"Are you human?" - she blurted out randomly, pinching his skin hard enough, to see if it would bruise and with what speed. Because... thatps how she determined if somebody was dead or alive. Sammy's skin was warm - alive, then. Well she supposed it could work with touch as well, but pinching was so much more fun (like Tony, who bruised very red immediately).

Sammy was getting tired of the crazy dead short woman very fast.
He decided against punching her in the face (you never know with those lots, he'd probably break his hand or something) and just stared blankly at her until she gave him what he wanted. It took too fucking long for her to spill out a five-letter name. Then, of course, Sammy put his head in his hands and grunted. God fucking damn it Deirdre why couldn't you leave our fucking son alone. Because Áine is not an idiotic Irish feminine name, it's an idiotic Irish for females.
He promised himself he'd kill Deirdre and dance around her dead body someday.
But then, he promised that a long time ago.
Sammy scowled. So much for trying not to give too much to the crazy dead woman. He sighed a deeply annoyed sigh. "I'm Samuel. The bo- er, Áine doesn't know me. I'm his, er...", he tried to come up with a convincing lie. He failed. Miserably. "I'm his father.", he mumbled angrily to the floor between his feet. He wasn't Áine's father, not really. He just... Got Am pregnant then ran away. A father wouldn't do that.
"What?", he turned to Rashida, frowning. "Why do y-- GOD FUCKING DAMn it, you dead crazy woman! Of course I'm fucking human!", he jumped a few feet away from her. A fleeting thought crossed his mind, and it was that he did not want his son walking around besides dead crazy women's spawn. Then, of course he wondered why the dead crazy woman in question mentioned her own son everytime she mentioned his.
"You've got my name, my damn relation to him, a piece of my fucking arm already! Just tell me when the black haired boy is!", he half shouted. He still was finding it very hard not to call his son black-haired boy instead of his name. After all, Áine is such an idiotic name.

Perhaps he'd like to murder Rashida and dance around her dead body as well //ming Take caution: she rose from dead like 4 times /shot ]]
"How come he doesn't know you?" - the woman squinted, unbelievably blue eyes looking at Sammy curiously. Everybody knew their their parents. Tony knew his father... mother. Antonia was mother, as much as she didn't exactly... give birth to him. Not in traditional way at least. Rashida liked to imagine it as Zeus birthing Athena... Throughout the ritual, Rashida was, with help of others, of course, to extract the child that was, in fact, alternate personality for a whole different person. But Tony knew his... uhh.. mother. Creator. And his mother slash father slash creator knew him too. Fairly well, Rashida supposed.
"But father father~" - she shrugged - "You should know that you come here only when we have parental meetings~ Aha!" - the short woman nodded, however she used the stairs to go to the lower floor, towards the dorms. Perhaps she should just leave him in front of the Tien maze and see where this goes. Yes. Nobody would blame her if he got lost in there. Or died.
"The dead crazy woman?" - the woman hissed. True, so very true and she was aware of it. The woman suffering from Huntington's her whole life. Her whole family did - it was inevitable. Rigid as a child, person who was barely speaking. Now she was just... plain crazy. Tony still claimed she spoke to her sister sometimes. Hallucination. She was dead and crazy indeed. The more she realized this, the more her breath was evening out and she was back to her normal, crazy self in very short time...
"I have a student who is a man-eater." - she added, pretty much randomly, as they reached Tien common room. The maze was now before them.
"He is inside." - she pointed to one of numerous entrances.

God damn Rashida doesnt make anything easy/ming))
Sammy decided to ignore everything the woman was saying. It made no sense at all and he was afraid he'd end up punching her in her stupid face. She kept rambling on and on about 'father' and 'parental meetings' and a lot of bullshit that he didnt listen to. Hr only stopped and paid attention when they finally stopped in front of a corridor full of doors.
He was going to get lost if he went in without her.
He was pretty sure he didnt ever want to see her stupid face ever again, so he grunted something that could mean 'thanks' but that could also mean 'fuck you sideways' but not really and went ahead. He kept eyeing the doors, seeing if he caught his son getting out, or in.
-----
Aw woke up and yawned.
Not really.
Scanlon woke Aw up and Aw decided it'd useless to try and sleep again, brcause Scanlon was trying to wake Tony and Tia too. The boy just yawned and poked Tony on his ribs. "Tom?"

The blonde woman didn't even notice that Samuel wasn't paying attention. For all Rashida cared, he could've died on the way here and she wouldn't notice. Somebody WOULD drag him to graveyard if needed... Then she would get a mouthful from... everybody. Students talked behind her back all the time. Rashida was very... unpopular, she knew this. She was aware of it.
The man... thanked? She smiled, but didn't move as he started making his way through the maze. She looked at him as he rounded the corner, just like when Tony was back for the first time, during LMS. Woman was so abnormally curious. She shrugged, before she left for her quarters in Dieter once again. She needed to move out soon anyway.
---
Somebody was poking him into ribs and Tony cracked an eye, just one eye open to smile slightly at Áine (perhaps one last time before now awakening Octavia decided to strangle him). But he was able to pick up the child and sit up, blinking around sleepily as he tried to remember, just like every morning, where exactly he was.
"Morning." - he yawned out as Octavia crawled towards Aw and, in his opinion, dangerously close to Scan.

Sammy remembered that woman pointing to one specific door, and just went ahead and knocked already. He had nothing to lose, after all, and maybe he could ask the students he probably just dragged out of bed where he could find Mr Bancor. It was either 'boy' or 'Bancor'. Sammy was not calling his son that stupid name Deirdre stuck him with.
He knocked and waited. He was an impatient man, and mocked again and again when nobody came to answer the door. Damn, those lazy monsters.
-- Aw gave Tony a sweet morning kiss, still kind of basking in the glory of being able to do it, and quickly put Scan out of Tia's way. The little boy loved her too much, and you hug and kiss and cuddle the girl even as she harassed him. It didn't always end well.
What time it was, anyway? They didn't really have any clocks in their room. Aw would guess maybe ten am, eleven? The boy left Scanlon, Tia and Tony in the bed ad hopped down to make himself some coffee. He frowned to himself: where was Nate? The vampire was probably at Faith's, again. Aw rolled his eyes. Nate was so obviously in lov--
Someone knocked on the door. And Aw didn't have many friends. The banshee sighed - either it was Spider-Woman, or Rashida. None of them were people he was so keen to see at such early hours in the morning. "Tommmm, can't you answer the door?"

"I can't be assed to." - Tony complained, but he made an effort to get up anyway. He still had that goofy smile on, the one that appeared each time after Aw kissed him and his low self esteem self was feeling very self-satisfied. Yes, he hoped this would be somewhat of a good morning indee. Maybe his mother only had her random attack of insanity. Wouldn't be the first time, that's for sure. He let out a grunt as he saw Áine get into his usual morning routine. Coffee was just... Not Tony's cup of tea, pun intended.
He wobbled over to the door. Wobbled. Oh god. He could clearly remember the timewhen he was barely walking. How old was he? 7? 8? Too old for a child NOT to walk. Yet he could shift into other PEOPLE. He was truly a work of nature... Freak of nature, as his daughter would so kindly correct him. He didn't even want to know where she got that from.... But that was her favourite phrase abd eveb though it was so early she already told that to Áine, Tony himself and was repeating it to Scanlon.
So he went to answer the door, not even caring what he looked like (though admittedly, his hair was MUCH better now that it was short). He was already sort of expecting his favourite mother to barge in any minute now. He did not expect this unfamiliar yet so familiar man. Once again Tia showed herself to be very inappropriate when she shouted 'fveek ov neitr' the minute her father opened the door.
"Can I help you in any way?" - he asked after he shhh'ed Octavia.Taking a closer look on this man, shifter vaguely wondered how he was so similar to Áine... But he didn't give it any further thought as he observed the other cautiosly. Leave it to Tony to be a suspicious lunatic. And heh, here he thought that was Rashida Demir.

Aw smiled at Tony's smile. The shifter still got all goofy everytime the banshee kissed him, and Aw had already given up on trying to pretend how satisfied he was because of that. He sipped his coffee and got a cup of orange juice to Tony. Don't ask where it came from, because the answer is that Scanlon probably stole it from someone.
Aw was still smiling a little as he gave Tia Toby's mutilated bunny to distract her. The banshee doubted people in general liked to be called freaks by a kid at this hour. He then walked to the door and gave Tony his juice, and stood besides Tony after the shifter talked: he was clearly not talking to someone they knew.
Aw frowned at this stranger. He was quite obviously not from the academy, he looked to old and too.. Human, and was familiar in a strange way... Aw remembered him from somewhere.
His eyes were very blue. His hair was as black as his own, and his eyebrows were big, but his skin was tanned.
Damn.
-----
Ok, Sammy was pretty sure his son was neither red-headed nor grey-skinned. Or green-eyed. This was obviously not Áine. The man scowled: how much longer would it take him to find the kid? He was fucking hungry, you know. And cold. And, hm, he could smell coffee coming from somewhere... Maybe if he was nice, the dead red-headed would give him some.
"I'm Sam.", he told the kid. Also, he could clearly hear someone shout 'freak'. If some fucking monster was insulting him he was going to kill them. "Can I have some of that coffee, and where can I find an Áine... Bancor.." Sammy slowed down and full on stared at the boy coming up behind the dead red-headed.
God damn, that had to be him: he was so much alike Amanda. He had her skin tone, pale compared to his own. Her nose, and a chubby face too. Also, he was a head smaller than him - he was smaller than even Amanda.
His eyes were blue like his own, but they almost glowed.
He said 'I'm Sam' at the same time Aw narrowed his eyes and murmured 'Samuel?' and then got promptly flabbergasted that the kid knew who he was. (He also watched somewhat still frozen as his son reached and put an arm around the dead red-headed's waist. What.)
Then, of course, Aw closed the fucking door to his face. "Hey!"
His son was a dick.
