(Sorry, I wanted to write and the forum is dead so take the shit OTL Come fight with Tam- //shotdead)
The sun beat down on Tam as she stood casually in the shade, a little to the side of the large training space that surrounded them; one hand on her hip, one leg crossed over the other as her eyes scanned the other trainees. It was hot, especially with these thick jackets no one dared to take off, but it wasn't as if the heat was too uncomfortable. She had spent years training to be the perfect solider - obey orders without question, don't think of your own needs, protect your teammates and be good at every training exercise they throw at you. A few rays weren't going to make her flinch.
This was the final stage of training. Hand-to-hand combat was the girl's favourite part of training, and it was a shame that she'd never be able to use it when she went to fight the Titans. She'd just have to make do with breezing through this activity and showing the higher ups that she could fight in any way they ordered her to. It didn't matter anyway, because she was skilled with her 3DMG as well. Solo missions and one-on-one, she could do without a second thought, no matter what situation anyone put her in, but pair her up with someone and she instantly started to fail by trying to work on her own or trying to do most of the work. Some people didn't mind, as it meant that if Tam succeeded, they got the marks as well. Others minded more than a bit.
She tsked and glance around, watching the teenagers split into pairs. It was amusing to see how they were like trained dogs, compared to the spirited bunch that had entered the grounds almost half a decade ago. She felt a sort of satisfaction and disappointment at the same time - she loved to see them all following orders so plainly, but the disappointment came from their lack of spirit. These years had broken most of them into the soldiers she saw in front of her.
Not that she was any different. She had been snapped and destroyed the second she reached here and they had began to rebuild her instantly, molding her like clay into a perfect soldier, which was all that mattered to Tam - if she could be a perfect solider, she could fight the Titans, prove she was not weak and return to her family a hero. That was her goal: to be a hero like her mother. There was no sweet way of putting it, she wanted the glory of returning covering in Titan blood that was already burning into smoke, when everyone else had failed. Of course, it would be better if everyone came back alive, but there wasn't as single mission where no one died. It was more than impossible to even hope for.
Coming back to Earth, she looked around lazily, tugging on the long, scarlet plait that fell to her waist.
"C'mon, who'll be my partner?" She called softly, her eyes daring the trainees to take her on.
