Tam was asleep, and would be for over a week more. Dizzy was missing, taken somewhere by Amon to be held captive. And to make matters worse - Manes had joined the Academy.
Sky had never met the boy before today. He had known his mother, Azela, only two decades ago, and she had been a wonderful person. But, because of circumstances that arose between the two, Manes now hated the old man.
Said old man was walking through the beautiful town of Alegra. His wife had recently lived here for a bit, before she had died again. His youngest daughter had offered to try and bring her back again, but poor Sky couldn't deal with losing her a third time. He had been very much in love with Shailee, and he was twice as upset about her second death than his joy at her return after her first.
It was a fairly nice day. Not as much snow here as the Academy, which was nice for the Spanish man; he had grown up around warmth, so this cold was unnatural. It showed the shops clearly, with bright, cheerful faces in the windows. Sky wished he could be one of those people, but it was impossible.
His life was in termoil, even without this dammed Last Man Standing thing going on. Tam was insane, to begin with. Actually insane. Hearing voices, self-harming, attempted suicide, etc etc. The only thing keeping her alive was her twin sister Dizzy, who was now missing. With her gone, it was up to Sky to save Tam when she did ridiculous stunts like stabbing herself or throwing herself out of a window. And now a new problem had been added to his life - the son he never knew. The same son that hates him. Not that he didn't have a good reason to. Sky had left Azela before Manes was born, but not before she told her lover that she was pregnant. Now, Manes wouldn't even look at his father.
And that was how he ended up here, walking alone in Alegra. He had considered some shopping, but what would he buy? What could he do other than walk around aimlessly?

Irene had decided to visit the town by the school for the first time, just to see what was there and if possible do some shopping. When she got there she couldn't help but smile because it hadn't been shopping for herself in a while.
As she walked through the town she couldn't help but window shop almost the whole time. Everything just looked so nice, but she was only in town to buy two things. First thing she wanted were a couple new books and second was to replenish her art supplies.
The moment she spotted a book store Irene went right in and straight to the adventure section. This was her most loved genre of books, second was romance. She pulled 3 books from the shelves and held them close because she knew she was going to buy them. She then decided to see what else this store had to offer and eventually found herself in music section. She smiled looking through all the piano sheet music. Most of the songs they had she knew by hear but some of them she had never seen before and was eager to try them all. She decided to only buy three of the piano music books and told herself that she will eventually buy the rest of them, one day.
With a smile she walked to cashier and placed the 6 books she was buying on to the counter so he could ring her out. Once the man was don't she gave him a sweet smile to thank him and stuffed the 6 books in to a large shoulder bag she brought with her to carry things, as she walked out of the shop excited about her new books.
Now she had one more errand to do, but that didn't stop her from window shopping again. As she walked she saw a familiar face through the crowd, it was sky.
Irene walked up to him and tapped his shoulder to get his attention.

Sky jumped a mile as he felt someone tap on his shoulder. He hadn't been expecting anyone to notice him, let alone want him for something.
His mind had been a million miles away, thinking of his family, old and new. What could he do to unite them? Tam hated Manes and vice versa. Dizzy and Manes got on perfectly fine, so that wasn't a problem.
The fairy shook his head in a desparate attempt to clear it and talk to the girl in front of him. He noticed it was Irene, the little siren who couldn't speak. He smiled warmly at her, adjusting his rectangular glasses as he did.
"Hello there," his face was kind and friendly, hiding all the inner upsets he buried deep down. "How are you doing today?"
Sky glanced at her shoulder, noticing a bag. Had she bought something? Well, that was nice, wasn't it? Or maybe she was just about to buy something. So he asked about it, trying to make conversation.
"Ah, have you bought something nice, niƱa?" He asked, using the Spanish word for little girl. It was odd to call someone that, but it always sounded cooler and better in another language.

Irene felt a little bad for making him jump so much by a simple tap on the shoulder. 'His mind must have been else where and that is why he jumped..' she thougt to herself, still she smiled at him gretting him back with a simple little wave. She then pulled her writing pad and wrote "im doing great~" holding it up for him to read.
She glanced down when he mentioned her bag, and she nodded eagerly to his question. Though she was not to sure what he said at the end of his question for she knew no spanish. She placed her note pad under her arm, then proceeded to pull out the 3 adventure books and 3 piano scores to show them to him. She smiled big proud of what she bought and super excited, espically for the 3 new books.

Sky smiled back at the girl as she wrote her reply. He gave her a double thumbs up, hoping to communicate with her more by body-language rather than his voice. The older fairy wanted to make her feel more comfortable about not being able to speak.
"Music and adventure, eh?" He straightened his glasses to look at the books she held. It made him smile to see someone with the same interests as Tam. "They seem muy buen! You play piano then? And, do you read a lot?"
It warmed Sky's heart to someone as young as Irene making the most of her life, even though she had no voice. Most other people would've given up and never gone outside again, let alone shopping or making friends.
This girl, the man thought. She certainly is an inspiration, isn't she?

Irene smiled and nodded stuffing the six items back in to her bag so she could once again write on her note pad to answer Sky. Irene quickly wrote down her response. "yes i love the piano~" said the first note. "and i love books, mainly adventure books. They were my only window to the outside world when i was younger~" said the second note. She then wrote "The next thing i planed on buying was some art supplies~... would you like to join me, if your not busy that is~" she smiled holding up this note to him.
With each note she wrote she held it up long enough to read and respond before showing the next note to him. She had been communicating like this for many years and had gotten use to it. But another fact is that she grew up with people who knew that was her only form of communication. Now that she is out in the world it seems that other people find this way of talking to be odd.

Sky smiled back at the girl. She liked piano, just like Dizzy. That made him feel a sharp sting of sadness, knowing he couldn't see his child. But at the proposition to get some art supplies with Irene, he was too ready to agree.
"Yes, of course I'd like to join you. I'm not doing anything at all at the moment, so I might as well."
He looked around at the shops around him, wondering which one they'd be going into for these supplies. It could be any one of them from the look of the outside, or maybe he just wasn't concentrating enough. It had been a long week, after all.

Irene clapped when he agreed to join her in buying more art supplies. Though this was her first time in the town and so she did not know her way around at all. She stood there and looked around trying to figure out which direction to take.
As her eyes scaned over all the stores, they soon fell upon an old antique shop. Her face then went from cheerful to emotionless as she stared at the store. Irene then started to walk towards it as if it was drawing her in. through out all her travels she would always stop at a musicbox or antuquie store in hopes that she would find some of her fathers work.
The wood work he left behind was all that was left of him. Her only connection to him. She hoped that if she collected enough of his works, she would find out what he was like when he was still alive. All she knew were storie that her mother would tell her through the door in the cover of night.

Sky let out a little laugh as he watched Irene clap her hands. He needed a distraction desperately, and shopping seemed to be the right move. He saw she wasn't sure where to go, so he point down a street.
"There's an art shop that way. I passed it on my way here."
The fairy watched in puzzlement as she walked towards an antique shop. He touched her arm lightly as her face went emotionless.
"What's wrong? Do you want to go in there?"
