Tobiah smiled slightly to the girl.
"If you think so, then, I shall suggest something alike in near future, yes? Perhaps in one week time, the first week is usually really busy... Homesick students and all duties..." - he explained, but rushed the last part, as not to bother the girl. Besides... he had found the other ongoing conversation rather interesting, even knowing it was none of his business. He'll make sure to ask his mother of Avertis couple... Once she gets over the fact that he only waited right chance to escape her office.
Inwardly, Tobiah praised himself on such accurate judgment of girl. He did not personally think he was a good judge of character. Maybe only an average one, or even below average. It seemed, however, every once in a while he can make a wild guess and be right. The girl was pretty much like her hair color - untamed, brave and fiery. He tightened his grip on her shoulder only slightly, since she was so much smaller and clearly weaker. Attack on the professor wouldn't look good on the files. Besides, it wouldn't do good on her pride either...
"Sure thing Professor." - he said with yet another smile. In whole situation, part-Italian was holding on to his normal, cheerful self. Unlike his mother, grandmother, aunts.... his whole family in short, Tobiah wasn't the one to get provoked easily or get into fights. What Brianna's parents and Jake had done and the grudges they held were perfectly not Tobiah's business.
"I am devoted to by duties, after all." - he added and choked on his spit a bit when Jake said 'anything inappropriate - "Uh.. You won't catch me." - he croaked out.
Then this woman was approaching them. She seemed to awfully familiar and Tobiah ran through his mind library in search for the name to attach to face. He was, after all, very good at memorizing facts, faces, people... Things he read he would remember word-to-word, people he saw he'd always knew who they were, even if just a random stranger on street. And then he remembered - Renée Thornton. He never knew woman in person. His mother would occasionally mutter something about students never leaving but that was mostly it. He had ran some errands for her around.. was it year and a half ago? He was sure it was only month or two over that. But never knew her in person. Brinna has, indeed, already introduced him, but he extended his arm out.
"Tobiah Nero." - so that was all he had to say and he turned his attention back to the dhampir teacher.
"Feel free to have a go. She caves in her office awfully lot lately, I'm certain you'll be able to find my mother there." - he suggested, although he didn't know how much Vittoria would be able to help him. After all, anger issues were what she was expert in... the bad kind, that is.

jake sighed clenching his face in anger and confusion. This side of him kept coming out since his youthful days and his failures with tam he tried to hide his anger and hatred but holding back his anger has started to take it's toll and thus created this other jake. "Ms. brianna i do not mean your father or mother any harm it's just I seem to be having some sort of split personality issue, currently so i ensure you I mean no harm and what ever I happen to say I don't mean any of it." His eye's flashed a quick red and he turned his back to the two students. Something was happening to his body that he couldn't control. "For now enjoy your stay at the academy and I look forward to seeing you both in my class, if you decide to take it that is. For now though i must go pay Mr.nero's mother a visit." Jake quickly covered his head with his coat and started to walk but tripped over a tree root not paying attention to his surroundings. " OW! " He stood up and brushed himself turning to the students with an embarrassed look on his face.

((I might add speech onto the same line as description, but it's only to save space xD I write too much for forum as it is ;3;//shot))
Renée caught more of the conversation than she first thought. In fact, it was enough for her to realise the current situation between the new students and old acquaintance. Needless to say, it made her uncomfortable.
She evaluated the scene before her carefully before inputting her own opinions. Another perk of being the assistant librarian: There was near to no drama around the agile brunette, unlike like those years ago in her academic life. However, she now had no experience with how to handle her own blunt choice of speech in the current circumstance. How could she talk to glass caskets, filling with different emotions with every word she spoke to them? How would she prevent their overflow? Their destructive shatter into unfixable pieces...
The thousand shards of glass falling before the shape-shifters eyes disappeared from her mind with a single blink. Surfacing once again from her own sea of thoughts, Renée's attention snapped to Jake. She was mildly aware he wasn't in the best of mind, judging from his posture and expression. Hell, he looked like he wanted to do nothing more than leave. And Renée couldn't agree more.
"Jake," Her voice was much harder than she first intended. With a poor attempt to soften her voice, she continued. "Brianna isn't her mother, nor is she Zack."
Zack. Even saying the man's name made a lump form unwillingly at the back of her throat. With an irritable sigh - more caused by her own lack of emotional strength - she raised her hand to her temple and began massaging with circular motions of her fingers. Briefly closing her eyes, mind too exhausted to continue a probable one-way conversation, Renée decided to end her objections there.
By the time she reopened her dead eyes, Jake was leaving. This, Renée thought blandly to herself, is the reason I should stop thinking so hard.
Turning to Brianna with a shrug of her shoulders, small life returned to her eyes. Adding a warm smile, her reply to the red head began in her native language. "Je suis désolé pour ce que. Pour répondre à vos questions, oui, je suis le bibliothécaire adjoint et suis viennent de France. [I'm sorry for that. To answer your question, yes, I am the assistant librarian and I am from France.]" Slowly folding her arms across her chest, fingers clutching her upper arm from habit. "Although, it's rude to speak a separate language in front of others," Gliding her eyes to Tobiah, a small, playful grin painting onto her face. "They might think we're discussing bad things about them. Right, Tobiah~?"

A grin crept upon her face. "I can't wait. I won't get homesick, I'm allowed to call Mama and Papa whenever I want, so whenever is good for you. Will you be really busy with things like that?" That she intended to do. She was planning to go for a walk just before curfew, go somewhere where she could be alone, and just talk to her parents about her day. She almost lied - she was going to miss her parents dreadfully, but she wasn't going to get so homesick that someone had to know about it. Oh well, she thought. No one will notice, I'm sure. As the shapeshifter watched Jake leave, she couldn't help but release a small frown at him. What gave him the right to say that about her Papa? And to his daughter, of all people! If Tam had been there, she would have surely beat him up. But Brianna didn't want to get into trouble on the first day, so no matter what she said, she wouldn't be getting into fights anytime soon. Although, she allowed a small laugh as he fell over. Serves him right, her brain said. But as the assistant librarian spoke in French, the girl's face lit up like a lamp. She had someone to speak to here in her language! The redhead was excited about the school year now! A date, a weird dhampire that knew her parents, and a librarian who spoke French! Oh, no one had told her school would be this fun on the first day! "Oh yes," She giggled, looking at Tobiah. "I don't think he does understand us, poor boy." She then proceeded to ruff his light hair affectionately, before turning back to the French woman. "Do you know my Mama and Papa too, madmoiselle?" She couldn't help wondering about the woman in front of her. It was a stupid question, the girl already knew, because Renée had said that she wasn't her mother or father. Which was true, but how would she know that if she had never met them? The question was really trying to ask how well she knows them, or had known them. Did they still keep in touch? Had they told her about the mysterious woman with amethyst eyes? Had she forgotten the stories of her? The little shape shifter jumped guiltily at the thought of forgetting.

Sighing, mostly at the conversation going on, Tobiah nodded to Jake. He said nothing, but he knew very well he'll be taking this class. Maybe he didn't even need it, maybe he did... Tobiah had a lot more classes than average anyway. He shrugged a bit when Jake left. Seems like everybody knew each other, which was not much of a miracle, really, but then again... No wonder nobody talked to his mother. Except for maybe Ramiel, because the man was just that strange. But Ramiel talked to everybody. Vaguely, the blonde wondered just how much his mother was evil - cause woman was pure evil - to Brianna's parents and perhaps even Renee herself.
"Oh I will be fine" - he answered with a smile to woman's question. - "I am to be found guilty of speaking in Italian occasionally too."
He let Brianna ruffle his hair, and then, as if proving what he just said, he scolded playfully:
"Grazie, principessa [thanks, princess], it was bad already." - he said and shook the blonde curls falling around his shoulders, but even with his words, that were supposed to come out as sarcastic, it was clear he was not even near to being mad at her. Or maybe it was just the grin on his face that gave him away?

((Tomorrow or the next day? PFFFFFT-- So sorry about that people ; v ; Good God I am! Here, take my reply and savour it ;'c I just hope it's worth it now ; v ; ))
It was so easy for Renée to lose herself in the lives of others, this being the perfect example. Like licks of flames dancing into a night sky, each word escaping from their tongues leave her buried deeper in their subconscious. However, this was never a bad thing for her. Renée found it much more soothing to be the bystander in these situations than attempt to join in with them.
Her eyes followed the speaker thoughtfully, catching every detail in their speech from the way a sentence was spoken, to their expression while delivering it. The years had been kind to her, giving yet another perk - better judgement of the people around, be it their body language or speech. This did not help her habit of losing interest in conversations that do not concern her however. Her mind wandered, her eyes made distant from the gentle hum of the conversation that excluded her.
Right before her grin faded completely, Renée snapped her head up. She gave a glance from Brianna to Tobiah, not sure how long they had been waiting for an answer, or if it was even her question to answer. With a swift blink to wake herself up from the habit of secluding herself in her own thoughts, she gave a soft smile as she tried to make sense of the question asked. The feeling of knowing what was said, just not giving full attention to understand entirely what was being asked was something Renée felt often, but wish she didn't.
"Yes," She contemplated whether she should use past or present tense to finish her uncertain sounding confirmation. "I did." Past tense it was. After all, she hadn't spoken with them for so long, so why not class them as memories longed to be forgotten? It was what they were let's not forget. Without meaning to elaborate to the point of discomfort, she simply added "Your mother and I were friends for some time in our early years at the academy. Zack was our music teacher, but nothing more." Nothing more.
Renée couldn't bring herself to call Zack a father to this stranger. It felt wrong in every way, but hoped this didn't come across while she spoke. With a light lift of the shoulders and soft sigh, she glanced and nodded thoughtfully back to Tobiah. "I'm sure you have, Platine Prince et Scream Académie [Platinum Prince of Scream Academy]. Tell your mother I said hello, not that she particularly cares. In fact, I'll be rather surprised if she even knows who I am."
